Australia confab fruitful: Agana
ROXAS CITY – Capiz provincial engineer Edgar Agana said the seminar-workshop on infrastructure and engineering works he attended in Sydney, Australia was successful and fruitful.
He said what he learned from Australia could be applied in the province.
Agana, president of Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers-Capiz Chapter, was among the 61 participants from the Philippines who attended the seminar-workshop on August 6 to 12.
Topics discussed were on concrete structure by Prof. Eiki Yamaguchi of Keyushu Institute Technology; disaster reduction by Steve Fenlay of Australia; bridge and infrastructure engineering by Lain Hespi of Hyder Consulting, Australia.
He also attended a talks on water management by Brian O’Donnell; sustainable infrastructure by Paul Nichell; and sustainable infrastructure and mining infrastructure.
Agana represented the PICE-Capiz and the provincial government while others participants were contractors from private sectors.
Agana supervises all present projects of the provincial government under the leadership of Gov. Victor Tanco Sr. such as the P200-million concreting of roads and the P210-million one-stop-shop business center in Tiza.*
