13-year-old girl robbed
A 13-year-old girl said she was held-up shortly after midnight of yesterday at Brgy. Montinola, Jaro, Iloilo City.
“Lovely” (not her real name) claimed that she was dropped off at a corner in Montinola village, and on her way home, two men suddenly approached her and declared a hold-up.
“Lovely” told the police the suspects took her money and undressed her and fondled her private parts.
After the suspects left, the victim immediately reported the incident to the police.
Two police teams scoured the areas of La Paz and Jaro districts to look for the suspects but to no avail.
Two hours later, Jomar Nomong, 31, claimed that he was walking along Benedicto St., Jaro when a young man came to him, led him to dark area, and divested him of his mobile phone and cash.
German National Hangs Self
A German national committed suicide by hanging himself Tuesday afternoon at his rented house in Brgy. Sto. Niño Sur, Arevalo, Iloilo City.
Police said 67-year-old Peter Paul Iting tied a rope around his neck and tied it to a closet.
Iting’s house help Nida Sombero found his employer’s body at around 3 p.m.
The police saw no foul play in the incident, but surmised that Iting ended his life because of financial problems as his pension was cut off six months earlier.
He was also suffering from diabetes and was often heard complaining of body pains.*
