Gumban: Let’s join hands to solve crimes
ROXAS CITY – Newly installed Capiz Provincial Police Office director, Senior Supt. Renato Gumban, has enjoined the local officials and the media to help the police in solving criminalities in the province.
Gumban took over the CPPO helm Wednesday from Senior Supt. Josephus Angan, who will be assigned in Cebu City.
He said he will work for the image of policeman as an ideal “Mamang Pulis,” who should be dependable, presentable, approachable and God- fearing.
Gumban said he is thankful for the warm welcome in Capiz, which is close to his heart because it served as his training ground when he was first assigned in the province several years back.
Gov. Victor Tanco Sr. welcomed Gumban and said the police task is highly commendable, which is to protect the people.
Tanco awarded Angan, along with the Philippine Army, for maintaining peace and order in the province in the recent elections.
Chief Supt. Samuel Pagdilao, police regional director, also congratulated Gumban for his new assignment.
The turn-over rites was also attended by Vice Gov. Esteban Contreras, mayors Dante Bermejo of Panay, Felipe Neri Yap of Ivisan, Raymund Locsin of President Roxas, and Vice Mayor Jude Cedullo of Cuartero, with Board Members Remia Fuestes Bartolome, James Magbanua, and Blesilda Almalbis.*
