Cabbie found dead on roadside
A taxi driver was found dead early morning of Saturday by the roadside of Namucon village in Tigbauan, Iloilo.
Felix Centino, 62, of Guzman-Jesena, Mandurriao, Iloilo, bore more than 10 stab wounds, police said.
Tigbauan Police Station chief, Insp. Abner Jordan, said Centino’s body might have been dumped in the area after he was killed in another place.
Initial investigation revealed the victim was already dead for about three hours when he was found by resident Erna Tidula at around 5:40 a.m.
Police investigators saw no traces of blood nearby, except in the area where the victim was found.
They also did not find any document that would suggest his identity.
Jordan said he asked members of the media to announce the discovery of the body.
Twenty minutes later, they received a report of an abandoned taxi bearing plate number DWM-852 at Lopez Jaena St., Jaro, Iloilo City.
It was then that the operator of God’s Will Taxi confirmed that the body is that of Centino.
As of press time, Jordan said that they are facing a blank wall on the identities of the suspects.
He said there could have been three persons who ganged up on the victim, who bore several defense wounds.*
