Gov’t agencies, NGOs share expertise in CapDev Expo
Government agencies along with some educational institutions and non-government organizations gathered at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol yesterday for the Capacity Development Expo organized by the Department of Interior and Local Government.
Themed “Linking Communities with Opportunities,” the activity became a venue for sharing of information, expertise and modules for capacity building and to forge simple and doable plans of action on capacity building for local government units under a unified scheme to support good local governance.
DILG Regional Director Evelyn Trompeta said the activity aims to advance the state of local governance in the country.
Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr. lauded the DILG for spearheading the activity and assured the DILG of the provincial government’s support.
One of the speakers is Canadian Urban Institute interim president and chief executive officer Michael Fenn.
The government agencies, NGOs and civil society organizations also conducted an exhibit at the Capitol lobby to promote their services.*
