Gumban underscores value of fitness, sports for cops
ROXAS CITY – The Capiz Provincial Police Office headed by Senior Supt. Renato Gumban is giving emphasis to physical fitness and sports program to help policemen in becoming effective law enforcers.
CPPO Information Officer Donna Asmod said Gumban pointed out that physical fitness and sports activities are necessary for policemen to have sound mind and body.
In line with this, the PNP Capiz Mini-Olympics 2010 kicked off September 14 at Camp Teodorico Apil, Roxas City.
She said the activity is part of the Human Resource Development Division Action Plan for the year under the Physical Fitness and Sports Development.
Asmod o said that for basketball, personnel from different police stations in Capiz, including those from the provincial command, were clustered into five groups while for other ball games, they were clustered into three groups.
Winners will be announced during the closing activity on September 24.*PIA
