Warden: Asset provided info on Marcelino’s whereabouts
ROXAS CITY – Capiz Rehabilitation Center warden Arjuna Yngcong said the recapture of drug inmate Sulpicio Marcelino last Saturday in Montalban, Rizal was made possible through the information provided by an asset, who also received the cash reward of P50,000.
Yngcong told The News Today in a telephone interview that Marcelino asked the help of his asset to find a job in Manila without knowing that he (asset) was coordinating with the CRC warden.
He said that when he was informed by the asset that Marcelino was in Montalban, Rizal, he asked Chief Insp. Capillan of the Capiz Provincial Police Ofice, who was in Manila for an official during the weekend, to arrest Marcelino.
Marcelino was recaptured through the joint efforts of Capillan and the Montalban, Rizal police.
Yncong has been placed under preventive suspension along with Provincial Jail Guard 2 Rudy Sereneo last week to pave the way for the investigation of Marcelino’s escape last September 24.
Marcelino is facing illegal drug pushing cases before the Regional Trial Court Branches 19 and 18 here and has posted a bond in an Iloilo city court for the same offense.*
