Mabilog to tap assistance of US-based Ilonggos
Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog will meet with the Filipino-Ilonggo community during his trip to the United States next week.
Mabilog, who will arrive in the US on November 2 for a week-long official trip, will discuss business and investment opportunities with Ilonggos in Maryland and Chicago.
He will also request financial support from them for the implementation of various projects and programs of the city government, he said.
The city needs donations such as instructional materials and textbooks and computer sets, and funds to build classrooms.
Assistance is also needed for low-cost housing projects through the adopt a housing unit and water system or shallow well at the city’s relocation site.
Mabilog said he will also seek donations such as ambulance, and tools and equipment for emergency response; uniforms and equipment for traffic enforcers and barangay police auxiliaries; movable railings for traffic and pedestrian use; and funds for a mini-gym project.*PNA
