Cousins killed in Lemery
Two cousins died in a violent attack by the group of a man they planned to assault first early morning Sunday in Brgy. Imbaulan, Lemery, Iloilo.
Police identified the victims as Jaime Villasor, 48, and Nilo Daanoy, 45.
Villasor succumbed to a stab wound on his back while Daanoy sustained a gunshot wound.
Both victims allegedly planned to attack one of the suspects, Edgardo Elijino, 48, of Poblacion South, Lemery.
Villasor asked Daanoy to prepare as they would confront Elijino, who reportedly has an illicit affair with the wife of Edwin Daanoy, Nilo’s brother.
When they arrived at Elijino’s place, two other persons joined Elijino and stabbed and shot Villasor and Daanoy.
Elijino was arrested while his two companions fled.
The police recovered four spent shells and a slug of caliber .45 pistol from the scene of the crime.
Lemery Police Station chief, Insp. Roweno Pomoy, they saw no other motive in the incident but the “love triangle” between Edwin Daanoy, his wife, and Elijino.
As of press time, criminal charges have yet to be filed against Elijino and his two companions.*
