Jamindan recipient of P15-M DSWD pro-poor assistance
ROXAS CITY – Jamindan town under the leadership of Mayor Ethel Jinon is a recipient of a P15-million assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Makamasang Kalahi Tugon.
The Makamasang Tugon serves as incentive to municipalities where the sub-projects of the KALAHI: CIDSS were already completed, properly implemented and have served its purpose of empowering the community.
Jinon said the DSWD assistance will benefit 22 barangays identified by the community facilitators with the most priority problems that need prompt attention from the local government unit.
The P15 million will finance various projects including a public market, waiting shed, water system, and farm-to-market roads.
Each recipient barangay will provide a P50,000 counterpart.
Jinon said Jamindan is the only recipient of the DSWD funds in Capiz.
She said she always she advocates participation, transparency and accountability in implementing projects in her municipality.
The Jamindan town’s battle cry “Shining Jamindan” also bagged a cash award and plaque of appreciation from the DSWD.*
