Antique forms SWAT team
The Antique Police Provincial Office (APPO) has organized a Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) team to bolster its campaign on anti- terrorism and other crime prevention strategies.
PO2 Ria May dela Cruz, APPO information officer, said the SWAT team will take the lead in addressing crisis situations and recommend the approval of provincial security plan to be implemented by various agencies when crisis situation occurs.
The APPO has also put in place an anti-/counter terrorism measure to ensure the protection and safety of Antiqueños.
This includes the intensified intelligence monitoring of terroristic activities not only in the province but also of neighboring provinces and other parts of the country and increase police visibility in strategic places.
De la Cruz said the APPO is also strengthening its community relations activities by conducting “pulong-pulong” in the barangays and other community mobilization activities.
The APPO is calling on the public to be vigilant of the happenings in their communities and support the efforts of the Philippine National Police in maintaining peace and order.
De la Cruz assured the public the APPO is on alert and ready to protect and serve the Antiqueños.*PIA
