Sapian town hosts BCBP medical mission
ROXAS CITY – Sapian town hosted the medical and dental mission conducted by the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals last Sunday that benefited some 300 indigents.
Dr. Dante Corros, BCBP Capiz Chapter head, said of the 300 recipients of free services, 100 availed of dental assistance while 200, of medical services such as blood pressure monitoring, bone scanning, and blood screening.
Ten patients from each barangay of Sapian were identified beneficiaries, but those who availed of the services reached about 300 because some walk-in patients also sought assistance.
Corros said the BCBP medical and dental mission was conducted for the first time in Sapian. They have also brought similar services in Mambusao, Dumarao and Panitan towns in the past two years.
Part of BCBP mission is to evangelize the community they serve and inculcate spirituality among the beneficiaries.
Corros said the BCBP raises funds through their members’ monthly contributions.
Meanwhile, Mayor Arturo Orosco Sr. thanked the BCBP members and the doctors and nurses who volunteered their services for his constituents.*
