Tanco to police: prioritize war vs. drugs
ROXAS CITY – Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco Sr. has urged the Capiz Police Provincial Office headed by Senior Supt. Renato Gumban to prioritize the fight against illegal drugs in the province.
CPPO Information Officer Donna Asmod said Tanco considers illegal drugs problem as a real threat.
The governor gave the instruction to Gumban during the recent command conference of the CPPO attended by the chiefs of police from the 16 towns of Capiz and Roxas City.
Tanco instructed the police officials to intensify preventive measures and arrest those who are involved in drug business regardless of who they are.
During the command conference, Tanco also cited the accomplishment of the CPPO in the recently concluded barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections and the recapture of Sulpicio Marcelino, a drug pusher detainee of Capiz Rehabilitation Center.
The governor has assured Gumban of his full support to the CCPO, particularly on financial assistance for police activities.*PIA
