Pilar launches newsletter
ROXAS CITY – The maiden issue of the official newsletter of the municipal government of Pilar, Capiz was launched last November 15.
Information Officer Magdalena Buyo said the newsletter is named “Balangaw sa Balisong” (Rainbow at Balisong) because the seven colors in the rainbow represent the major sectors in the community.
“Balisong refers to a place in the town where the historical revolution happened.”
The newsletter will serve as a medium of information of the town’s various accomplishments, programs, projects and services.
The preliminary issue of the paper includes an editorial, Pilar Mayor Ma. Rita Lyn Patricio’s message, news articles on the town’s recent activities, news feature, Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan election results, Sinadya sa Halaran (SSH) updates, among others.
It has also photo releases to complement the various articles.
“I am happy that finally we have our newsletter,” Patricio said. “This will also serve as a venue for transparency in my administration.”
The launching of “Balangaw sa Balisong” was attended by the municipal government department heads and employees and representatives from the non-government organizations, private, youth, business and religious sectors.*PIA
