Querol urges police units to improve performance
Chief Supt. Cipriano Querol Jr., police regional director, has urged all units under Police Regional Office 6 to improve their performance following the release of the quarterly performance evaluation rating last week.
“We encourage our police units to give their best in the delivery of services not because of the evaluation rating, but because the people deserve the best,” he said.
In the latest quarterly PER, Iloilo City Police Office topped the list of nine police units region-wide.
Querol lauded the ICPO for maintaining its top performance rating. The ICPO was also number one in the second quarter but its points slightly decreased in the third quarter – from 812.785 to 807.742. The perfect score is 980 points.
Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office is still at number two while Iloilo Provincial Police is now number three from number five in the last quarter.
Aklan Provin cial Police Office is fourth; Bacolod City Police Office, fifth; Antique Provincial Police Office, sixth; Guimaras Provincial Police Office, seventh; Capiz Provincial Police Office, eighth; and 6th Regional Public Safety Battalion, ninth.
Querol said the evaluation approximates the efficiency and effectiveness of the police offices through their administrative and operational accomplishments.
The evaluation is not meant to initiate competition but provide the units an overview of their performance, he said.
“The PER is not absolute. But the points given to the units based on the 10 result areas indicate their performance and serve as basis for improvement,” he added.*
