Ardivilla clarifies scrutiny of appropriation ordinances
ROXAS CITY – Capiz Board Member Ma. Emile “Mimi” Ardivilla has clarified reports that her opposition is causing the delay in the passage of appropriation ordinances.
In a privilege during Friday’s special session, Ardivilla said she is only questioning, not opposing, the lack of supporting documents to the proposed appropriations to protect the people’s interest.
Ardivilla issued a clarification as media reports indicate that she is being blamed by her colleagues for the non-passage of the appropriation ordinances for salaries of casual and contractual workers and other expenditures of the provincial government.
She said she has heard radio commentaries criticizing her scrutiny of the required documents.
Ardivilla, who belongs to the opposition Ugyon Kita Capiz but part of the majority bloc in the provincial board, is the wife of former Board Member Gilbert Ardivilla, who is identified with former Rep. Fredenil Castro.
She said that she supporting the projects of Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco Sr., including the P191-million allocation for the partnership between the province and the Department of Health for the campaign against dengue.
Meanwhile, Provincial Budget Office Antonio Arbis said the supporting documents for the proposed appropriation ordinances questioned by Ardivilla were not attached initially because of the delayed submission by the concerned departments.*
