6 CAGPIO members vie for award
ROXAS CITY – Six outstanding members of the Capiz Association of Government Public Information Officers Inc. (CAGPIO) are competing in the regional search for the 2010 Best Performing Information Officers on December 1 in Iloilo City.
The nominees are information officers Carlette Pretta of the Department of Agrarian Reform-Capiz; Fire Officer 2 Marlon Garbo of Bureau of the Bureau of Fire Protection-Roxas City; Jeoffry Espiritu of the Capiz Integrated Provincial Health Office; Police Officer 3 Donna Asmod of the Capiz Police Provincial Office; and Edward Basilonia of the Capiz Provincial Press Bureau.
Other provinces in the region will also nominate their respective outstanding IOs for the same award.
The awarding rites will highlight the information officers’ year-end assembly spearheaded by the Philippine Information Agency 6.
“This event is in pursuit of the thrust for transparency, accountability and effective governance through effective information and communication of the programs of the government,” PIA 6 Regional Director Ma. Janet Mesa.
The assembly will be attended by PIA Director General Jose Fabia.
About 130 information officers from various associations of IOs and PIA employees in the region will attend the gathering.*PIA
