‘Vigilantes could have killed TBS 13 leader’
The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) has confirmed that the young man found dead the other day was indeed a member of the notorious True Brown Style 13 gang.
But investigators are still facing a blankwall on the identities of the assailants who shot Emmanuel Roquero, a resident of Brgy. Kasing-Kasing, Molo, Iloilo City.
“We are not discounting the possibility that it’s a handiwork of vigilantes,” said Chief Insp. Orly Gabinete, chief of ICPO Intelligence Section.
He could have been killed by individuals who harbor a grudge over the TBS 13’s execution of several cabbies in the past weeks, he said.
Gabinete said it is also possible that Roquero was killed by his fellow gang members.
“Their modus operandi is already known. It could have sparked a conflict within the group and thus, there’s fingerpointing on who is responsible for some of their members getting busted,” he said.
Gabinete said another possibility is that Roquero was silenced by policemen who are already fed up with the group’s crimes.
Roquero’s bullet-riddled body was found by the roadside of Brgy. Q. Abeto, Mandurriao district in Iloilo City Wednesday morning.
Decomposing Body Found

The body, who belongs to a male between 20 and 30 years old, was found at around 7 a.m., Brgy. Captain Allan Gabilinio told the police.
Police said the victim has a dark complexion and stands between 5’2” and 5’3.”*
