4 Roxas City barangays form peacekeeping teams
ROXAS CITY – Four barangays in Roxas City have organized their respective Barangay Peace Keeping Action Teams (BPATs) last month to help police authorities in their campaign against crimes.
The teams were organized in barangays 8, Culasi, Inzo Arnaldo and Tanque.
The BPAT volunteers from these barangays were trained last November 23 by the Roxas City Police Station (RCPS) as part of its efforts to intensify its city-wide peacekeeping efforts.
Supt. Khasmir Disomangcop, city police chief, led the conduct of the BPATs training attended by about 60 participants.
Other barangays will also form their teams soon.
The peacekeeping teams will assist authorities as force multipliers in the implementation of crime prevention programs by reporting potential peace and order problems to village or police officials.
Each team is composed of a barangay chairman and seven tanods under the supervision of the local police chief and Police Community Relations Police non-commissioned officer.
The activity was also attended by Chief Supt. Cipriano Querol Jr., police regional director, as guest of honor and training lecturer.
Querol was police director of Capiz in 2006 when it was judged as the Best Provincial Office in Western Visayas based on the evaluation by Police Regional Office 6.*PIA
