Panay mayor cries foul over exclusion in parade
ROXAS CITY – Panay Mayor Dante Bermejo cried foul over the exclusion of his town in the order of parade during the Sinadya sa Halaran 2010 festivities last Saturday.
“It’s okay to hear them say sorry and we cannot do anything about it, but say it’s okay,” Bermejo said in a radio interview.
He said after the damage has been done, he can only say better luck next time.
However, the dancers of the Lingga-anay Festival were still able to perform despite their supposed exclusion from the parade.
Pio Bengan of the Department of Education and Provincial Tourism Officer Al Tesoro asked for an apology, saying the exclusion was an honest mistake.
Bermejo, who belongs to the opposition Ugyon Kita Capiz, was among the mayors who did not attend the festivities.*JEC
