Gas station robbed; 4 suspects arrested
The four men who robbed a Total gasoline station in Rizal Ilaoud in Cabatuan, Iloilo Monday evening were arrested less than an hour after their heist.
Joint operatives of New Lucena and Sta. Barbara police stations collared Jesil Teruel, 35, of Brgy. Balabago, Jaro, Iloilo City; Wilbert Conosta, 20, Brgy. Gen. Delgado, New Lucena, Iloilo; Larry Mediana, 31, of Brgy. Amirong, Maasin, Iloilo; and Ranel Dayan-dayan, 32, of Brgy. Agtatacay, Dingle, Iloilo.
The suspects were on board two motorcycles and were on their way to New Lucena town when they were intercepted at a checkpoint in Brgy. Pungsod, Sta. Barbara.
Cabatuan Police Station chief, Senior Insp. Alejandro Apostol, said the suspects robbed the gasoline station at around 8:30 p.m.
Teruel poked a gun on pump boy Raffy Pillo while Dayan-Dayan took the money from the cashier stationed outside the office.
Conosta was one of the drivers while Mediana served as lookout.
Apostol said the incident was reported to their station about 10 minutes after the heist, prompting them to send a flash alarm to neighboring towns to set up a checkpoint to intercept the suspects.
The suspects yielded P8,060 in cash, a caliber .45 pistol, identification cards, four mobile phones, and two motorcycles.*
