Mabilog tells Valerio: Strengthen police force
Iloilo City Jed Patrick Mabilog has urged city police officer-in-charge Senior Supt. Marieto Valerio to strengthen the police force as the Christmas season nears.
Mabilog said he hopes that Valerio will be able to strengthen the police force despite being only a temporary head.
He said Valerio should focus on various high profile crimes and drug related incidents, adding that he should also be always on top of all police matters, including investigations.
Mabilog said the intelligence unit of the Iloilo City Police Office must also be enhanced.
Valerio headed the Regional Investigation and Intelligence Division of the Police Regional Office 6 before he was named ICPO officer-in-charge.
Mabilog said Valerio is more than equipped to handle pre-emptive measures against crimes given his experience as PRO 6 intelligence chief.
An equipped intelligence unit would definitely decrease crime incidence in the city, he added.
Valerio took over as OIC on Monday after Senior Supt. Dennis Basngi was relieved as city police director.*PNA
