27 BSPOs receive loyalty award
ROXAS CITY – Twenty-seven Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPO) in Capiz who have rendered 25 years of service as an extension arm of the Provincial Population Office (PPO) received the Loyalty Award during the BSPO congress last December 1 held at the Capiz Gym.
The congress, facilitated by the PPO headed by Officer-In-Charge Yolanda Francisco, was highlighted by the distribution of cash gifts and recognition of BSPO retirees.
During the program, Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco Sr. said that a much higher incentive for BSPOs, who are instrumental in the wider awareness and deeper appreciation among Capiceños of the family planning and reproductive health services, will be given by the provincial government next year.
The congress is in line with the Population and Development (PopDev) Week celebration as embodied in Presidential Proclamation No. 70.
A P750,000 supplemental budget was approved by the Capiz Provincial Board during its November 17 regular session for the cash gift, awards, raffle prizes and other expenses.
Commission on Population Regional Director Vicente Molejona was also among the special guests.
Molejona conveyed his appreciation to the provincial government for its support to BSPOs and other population initiatives.*PIA
