77 drunk men nabbed during SSH festivities
ROXAS CITY – No serious incident was reported during the Sinadya sa Halaran celebration from December 3 to 8, but 77 persons were arrested for alcohol-related violations at the plaza.
Two cases of physical injuries were reported.
This makes Sinadya sa Halaran 2010 generally peaceful and successful, Councilor Powell del Rosario, chairman of committee on peace and order and police matters, said.
About 500 police personnel, including national support groups, secured the Sinadya sa Halaran festival
The Sinadya sa Halaran Task Group, supervised by Roxas City Police chief Khasmir Desomangcop, established 18 police assistance centers in strategic areas around Roxas City for prompt police response and assistance.
An advance command post, manned by operations personnel of the Capiz Provincial Police Office and with the supervision of Deputy Task Group Commander Supt. Louis Garong, has also been set up at the “Balay Capiznon” adjacent to the Provincial Capitol to monitor and receive situation reports.
The CPPO has also initiated intensified police visibility and check point operations inside and outside the city.*
