Celino to media: Give us chance to air our side
ROXAS CITY – Roxas City Mayor Angel Alan Celino said he would welcome criticisms from the local media if his administration commits a wrongdoing, however, he appealed to the press to be fair and give him a chance to air his side.
“You can criticize us of our wrongdoings but just give us the chance to give our side,” Celino told reporters during a press conference at the City Hall yesterday morning.
He said he will use the local media to promote transparency and in information/dissemination of the projects and other endeavors of his administration.
Asked about his plans for 2011, he said the people could expect a more productive year because the city government will have complete budget for its several projects.
He also said the comprehensive drainage plan for the city will be implemented to minimize flooding in the city.
“I’m the mayor of all, whether you are a foe or an ally,” the mayor said, adding that his wish is for the local media to cooperate with his development plan for the city.
He also said that developing Brgy. Lawaan as one of the business centers of the city is part of the development agenda of his administration.
Meanwhile,Councilors Powell del Rosario, Julius Abela and Emmanuel Billones Jr. also expressed support to Celino’s development plan.*
