Second wave revamp hits 10 cops
Ten policemen from the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) were relieved anew from their respective assignments effective yesterday.
The revamp however is merely routinary, says ICPO Director Senior Supt. Norlito Bautista.
Of the ten cops, four came from City Proper police precinct (PP1), two from Molo (PP4), two from La Paz (PP2), one from Jaro (PP3) and another one from the Waterfront detachment. No police personnel from Mandurriao police precinct (PP5) is included in the list.
Police personnel who were relieved in PP1 are SPO1 Danny Gallego, PO2 Remy Donasco, PO2 Salvador Gonzalez and PO3 Ronaldo Alag.
SPO3 Nathaniel Ore and PO2 Armand Penuela from PP4 were also affected in the second wave of police revamp. Penuela is facing administrative charges for the escape of suspected drug pusher Jonathan Nava at the Iloilo Doctors Hospital last year.
Relieved from PP2 were SPO3 Jun Isanan and SPO1 Richard Adelantar. Isanan was once assigned at the defunct Presidential Anti-Crime Organized Task Force (PAOCTF).
SPO1 Eduardo Casabuena is the lone policeman at PP3 who was relieved.
SPO1 Gerardo Iguarra of the Waterfront Detachment was also relieved from his assignment.
The ten cops are now temporarily detailed at the Regional Headquarters Support Group in Camp Delgado.
The News Today (TNT) learned that prior to their relief, the ten cops were called by Sr. Supt. Reynaldo Rafal, chief of the Directorial Staff and concurrent chief of the Human Resource and Personnel Division of the Police Regional Office 6.
Sources said their respective precinct commanders recommended for their relief. No apparent reason however was attributed to their relief.
For his part, Bautista expressed that the revamp should not be given malice.
He clarified that it is merely part of their job.
Bautista said it is unfair to speculate that the relieved cops are into illegal activities.
He added, the relief of police personnel is normal in an organization. Even police officials are also not spared from rotation of police personnel, Bautista said.
Earlier, eleven cops coming from different police precincts in the city were affected by the first wave of revamp implemented in the ICPO.
