'Iloilo's Heritage, Iloilo's Pride' Photo Contest
The old structures and buildings of Iloilo speak of its heritage. These are constant awe-inspiring for tourists and visitors. The magnificence of its designs also brings back our very own culture and pride. With this, the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) Marikudo Chapter, Iloilo City Cultural Heritage Conservation Council and the Department of Tourism (DOT) VI will hold a photo contest both for amateur and professional photographers. The said contest is limited to all buildings, edifices and structures found in the vicinity of the city. However, these structures should be identified as a heritage and at least 50 years old and above.
The contest has three categories: Residential, Commercial/Institutional and Religious. All contestants are required to submit one photo per category, one set of entry would compose of three pictures from each of the category. All photos submitted shall be on an 8'x10' size photo paper without borders and should be in color print along with its negatives All photos shall depict the full view of the subject (facades, perspectives). There will also be a registration fee of P100 for each set of submitted entry.
Photos will be judged in visual impact (50%), composition (30%) and adherence to the theme (20%). Prizes are P5,000 (1st), P3,000 (2nd), P2,000 (3rd) and five finalists at P500 for each of the category. Certificate of participation will be given to all contestants. All winning and non-winning entries will be the property of the organizer and maybe reproduced or reprinted for exhibits for promotional purposes among others. Deadline for submission is on November 25, 5pm at the UAP-Marikudo Secretariat, 2F Angeles Arcade Bldg., Mabini St., Iloilo City. For inquiries contact: 3379565.
