Solo perfect attendance, less Resolutions for prov'l board in '05 sessions
Iloilo -- A total of 52 sessions were conducted by the Iloilo Sanggunian Panlalawigan (SP) in 2005 marked by the perfect attendance of only one member who did not miss a single regular or special session, officially or unofficially. And with historical "performances' displayed by both administration and minority 'conscience bloc' board members, the 8th SP of the Iloilo Provincial Government managed to approve 196 Resolutions, 11 approved Resolutions short as compared to 2004.
This, the records bare in an official certification issued by SP Secretary Lorenzo Tubola that further showed the missed sessions. These absences were however official, as the board members went on "official business" said session day or chose to avail of their official vacation, sick or special leave of absences.
The"perfec" provincial official is Fourth District Board Member Romeo Palmares who was never absent in all 52 Tuesdays of 2005, did not have any official business or went on official leave."Almos" perfect were Fifth District Board Member Eric Barbosa and Fourth District Board Member Domingo Oso who each had one single absence, also official as Barbosa went on leave and Oso on official business.
In contrast was the most junior member in Board Member Jeneda Salcedo who missed a total of 16 regular sessions, albeit with official reasons - four on official business and 12 made on the days she availed her benefits for leave of absence. Salcedo is the president of the Provincial Federation of the Iloilo Sanggunian Kabataan (SK). The only one with unofficial absences was Board Member Angelo Briones, president of the Provincial Liga ng mga Barangay who had a total of three on record.
But it was to be Second District Board Member Cecilia Capadosa who had the most in business trips during the session days in the past year. This as the records show five instances the said lady board member went on official travel followed by four travels each made by Briones, Salcedo, Lilia Gonzales and Niel Tupas Jr.
