Revised Kasadyahan tribe contest criteria set
Iloilo City -- Kasadyahan Tribe chairperson Dr. Eden Deriada said that the criteria for the Kasadyahan Tribe Competition of the Iloilo Dinagyang Festival 2006 was revised, with choreography and performance as two different items, which previously were fused as one.
The criteria now include Choreography, 35%; Performance, 30%; Costume/uniform/Props, 20% and Music, 15%, giving a total of 100%
The criterion on choreography includes dance variation, formation, focus and projection, visual impact and style and expression. For performance, there is mastery, dance variation, formation, precision and coordination, and style and expression.
Costume, uniform and props consider appropriateness, choice of color and style and effective use of relevant props, while Music considers rhythm, dynamics and suitability.
Dr. Deriada said that to date seven tribes have confirmed their participation, two from city schools and five form different towns in Iloilo Province.
She said that a particular consideration was emphasized with the participating tribes, that is, the distinct culture of the locality must be clearly defined in the performance.
On the other hand, Dr. Deriada added that among her critical concerns was the participation of the non-contesting tribes in the Kasadyahan. To clarify and put things in order, she is calling a meeting for these participants, on January 20, 2006 which is also the deadline for the registration of the non-competing tribes for the Kasadyahan competition.
