The Cascades concert to go on
Ilonggo fans of America's popular 70s band The Cascades should not have to worry as the group's upcoming concert on June 18 at the Rose Memorial Auditorium of Central Philippine University (CPU) will push through contrary to rumors that it will be restrained by the court.
This was the assurance made by lawyer Joshua Alim, counsel for the concert's producer Ramon Espinosa of VJS Pro-Audio Enterprises, in a press conference Tuesday, June 6.
Alim is confident that the concert will go on as scheduled as Aris Demavivas did not file for a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) but only specific performance and damages suit against Cascades promoter Steve O'Neal, Espinosa and two others.
Demavivas claimed that Steve O'Neal committed a breach of contract for signing up with VJS Pro-Audio Enterprises although they have already entered into an earlier contract.
Alim said they will just have to face the case in court.
Alim added there is no such thing as legal impediment on the upcoming concert as the people behind this big event are of unquestioned credibility and reputation.
He said helping VJS Pro-Audio Enterprises in the promotion of the Cascades concert is the Lifeline Medical and Allied Services Inc.
Alim clarified that the participation of CPU pertains only to the concert's venue.
Alim said the concert's beneficiaries are the Boy Scouts of the Philippines Iloilo Confesor Council and the Work Studies Program of CPU.
Dr. Denzel Dacquiado of Lifeline Medical and Allied Services Inc. said ticket sales for the upcoming concert is doing good with almost 60 percent of tickets already sold and with a lot of reservations.
Espinosa's group will also bring The Cascades to Bacolod on June 23.
