Ex-jueteng operators, 3 brgy captains among incorporators of ISTLGC

Personalities formerly linked to the operation of "daily double" in the city, as well as three barangay captains, are among the incorporators of Iloilo Small Town Lottery and Gaming Corporation (ISTLGC) which was recently given business permit to operate by the city government.

Antique Rehab prisoners duel

One inmate is dead while another, the sole suspect faces more trouble and jail time following yesterday's (Thursday) early morning jail fight at the Antique Rehabilitation Center (ARC).

The victim, Jose Tayupon was brutally murdered with six knife wounds including a fatal one in the neck. His body was discovered some 200 meters away outside his "cell". The principal suspect identified by authorities was one Florentino Ardon of Barangay Lagutan, San Jose.

Gumabong, CEO officials to face off in SP probe

Alleged extortionist Ricardo Gumabong and top officials of the City Engineer's Office (CEO) he implicated in a widespread extortion racket now shaking the department will probably face each other in an investigation at the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

Gumabong along with CEO chief Marito Amatorio, Engr. Marcelino Umahag, OIC chief of the electrical safety division of the CEO and Imelda Aguadera, of the administrative section of the CEO were invited in the SP investigation in aid of legislation scheduled on June 22, 2006.
