City Council opens city doors to STL By Maricar Calubiran Small Town Lottery (STL) is now free to enter Iloilo City. The City Council, in a resolution, interposed no objection to the operation of STL which is now under the supervision of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO). In its regular session last Wednesday, 11 councilors voted for the passage of the resolution sponsored by Majority Floor Leader Eduardo Peñaredondo favorably endorsing STL.

Lawyer Alex Espino, spokesperson of Rep. Judy Syjuco and her husband Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) director general Augusto Syjuco, made real his threat of filing libel charges against provincial administrator Manuel Mejorada for allegedly making libelous remarks against the couple relative to an alleged questionable transaction involving mobile phone units.

Some 100 drivers plying the route of Calumpang- Calaparan yesterday (Thursday) held a one-day strike to show their strong opposition on the recent fare matrix approved by the Land Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
