Hundreds of Day Care children in the Province of Iloilo converged at the Capitol's lobby on Monday during the highlight of the celebration of the 14th National Children's Month.
Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) head Neneth Q. Pador said this activity with this year's theme "Bright Child: Yaman ng Pamilya, Yaman ng Bayan" sought to highlight the children's special talents in arts, music and dancing as various competitions were prepared to give each of them the opportunity to showcase their abilities and encourage them to develop their full potentials.
The program was in consonance with Proclamation 267 declaring the month of October as the National Children's Month to commemorate the Filipino children to emphasize the importance of the role of the child within the Filipino family and within Philippine society, in a rationale given by PSWDO Planning Officer Nema A. Villan.
She said BRIGHT Child is the brand name of the holistic program directed at children 0-17 years old, which ensures that service providers will work together in providing the best opportunities for all children.
