SolGen asks CA to junk Tupas' plea for injunction

The Office of the Solicitor General has asked the Court of Appeals division in Cebu City to deny the petition for injunction filed by Gov. Niel Tupas and Board Members Domingo Oso and Cecilia Capadosa for lack of merit.

Police to re-implement 'log-in log-out' scheme for taxi drivers

A “log-in log-out” scheme for taxi drivers will again be implemented by the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) to avert criminalities victimizing taxi drivers. The precautionary measure is in line with the onset of the lean months where robbery cases as well as crimes against property are observed to rise up.

Ombudsman probe on Capitol sedition begins

The Office of the Ombudsman in the Visayas found “enough basis” on the sedition complaint filed against four top officials of the Iloilo Provincial Government.  As such, the matter has now been elevated to a case with corresponding criminal investigation now underway.

P&I to recall budget for 'fish festival'?

The Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Club will allegedly recall the budget it gave to the provincial office of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) for its “fish festival as it is already too late to hold the festival. The Club primarily wants the festival to promote the bounty of the Guimaras waters.

WV still avian flu free

The Department of Agriculture (DA) assured the public of a negative presence of the avian flu virus in the region, particularly in the four municipalities of Capiz, namely, Sapi-an, Sigma, Ivisan and Roxas City. OIC Regional Executive Director Larry P. Nacionales announced during a Management Meeting held at RIARC at Sigma, Capiz, early this week, after dispatching the Regional Task Force on Avian Flu headed by Dr. Oscar Limoso to the said areas.

RDC moves to implement strive 2

The Regional Development Council (RDC) moved to approve the implementation of STRIVE (Strengthening the Implementation of Basic Education in Selected Provinces of the Visayas), Phase II during its last RDC meeting held in Bacolod City.
