When Kathy M. Villalon saw Jor-el Espina for the first time, the impression was, "This person knows how to dress fashionably." He was wearing black long sleeves polo with white accents on it, coupled with jeans and tall boots. He carried a big bag. Seldom can you find someone who can carry an avant garde look that way and still turn out really classy.
Ballroom dance aficionados trooped to Amigo Hotel's Cleopatra's Barge last Sept. 20, 2007 to attend the launching of "Love To Dance," a competition by the said hotel and sponsored by The News Today and Graphic, Etc. That night, they showcased how well they could do that rumba, jive and chacha.
September 15 was a red letter date in Iloilo when two big dance parties were celebrated simultaneously that night giving again yours truly a dizzying spell as to where to start to first.
Loven Ramos is an avant garde artist whose works have constantly evolved from art lamps, furnitures, installations of kitchenware and dinnerware, wearable paintings, to all sorts of materials and nuances that give a unique life to things that are otherwise considered mundane.
