PRO-6 to secure visiting IPU delegates in Boracay Island
The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) is ready to provide security to participants of the 1st Global Parliamentary Meeting on HIV-AIDS who are planning to take a side trip to Boracay Island.
The police regional headquarters here has created Task Group Boracay led by PRO-6 director, C/Supt. Wilfredo Dulay Sr., with the various operational support units as members.
The task group will be in charge of the security coverage as well as civil disturbance management and public safety and other related concerns in Boracay.
6th Regional Maritime Office-In-Charge, Supt. Cornelio Salinas, said his group, which is a member of the sub-task group Bantay Dagat will be conducting seaborne patrol operations and provide port security to ensure the safety of the visiting delegates.
The meeting, which will be participated in by all member-countries of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, will be held in Manila on Nov 26 to 30.
The task group was created in anticipation that some of the delegates may want to visit the country's tourist destinations, especially Boracay Island in Aklan. (PNA)
