Take two in SP of guv's appointed health exec
Will the Iloilo Provincial Government finally have its Provincial Health Officer (PHO)? The answer lies in the outcome of today's appearance before the Sanggunian Panlalawigan (SP) of Dr. Patricia Grace Trabado, appointed PHO of Governor Niel Tupas.
This, as members of the 9th SP addresses anew the Trabado-appointment that faced questions last month.
Included as among the provincial matters in the SP's regular session, Vice Governor Rolex Suplico as presiding chair alongside board members from Iloilo's five districts are expected to again grill Dr. Trabado.
The legislative concurrence has since been sought by Governor Tupas as a matter of procedure yet met a snag due to concerns raised on her qualifications.
This, after the discovery of some questionable entries into the submitted Personal Data Sheet (PDS) particularly the matter of residence. As such, Trabados appointment as full-fledged PHO remained unacted.
The SP body's Committee on General Services and Human Resources is on top of the Trabado issue who appeared before the committee and then faced off with committee chairman Fifth District Jesus Salcedo Jr. Other board members present in the committee hearing called were First District Board Members Richard Garin and Mac Napulan, Second District Board Member June Mondejar, Fourth District George Demaisip and Vice Governor Suplico.
Trabado's appointment came after the retirement of former PHO chief Dr. Carmen Bayate. The denial of her appointment though was "without prejudice" on her re-appointment if and when she manages to correct the questionable and questioned documents.
