CRC's missing 2 carbines now in PGSO custody
ROXAS CITY – The two missing vintage U.S. Carbines of Capiz Rehabilitation Center (CRC) are now in the custody of the Provincial General Services Office (PGSO) at the provincial capitol here.
Reportedly, the guns were under repair and were under the care of a gun repair shop where the personnel of CRC got them and returned to the PGSO.
The U.S. carbines which is World War II type were missing during the stint of former OIC Provincial Warden Milanie Yu.
Earlier, Gov. Victor Tanco, Sr. directed Atty. Jose Villanueva, provincial legal counsel, to investigate the missing CRC weapons prompting the latter to have it located.
Atty. Villanueva was aided by Provincial Administrator Zoe Herrera and PGSO head Fernando Billones in the investigation.
Following the investigation of the provincial government, Board Member Rommel Lastimoso, chair of Committee of Peace and Order and Police Matters, also probed the missing carbines.
Meanwhile, the provincial government is yet to report its recommendations in connection with the controversial loss of weapons from the CRC.
It was learned that the provincial government is planning to procure guns and ammunitions for the use of jail guards at the CRC.
