DFA mobile passport service goes to WV towns
The regional office of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) based in this city is set to conduct its Mobile Passport Service in some municipalities of Western Visayas.
DFA 6 Director Rutas Patricio said passport applicants, especially those who intend to travel or work abroad, can avail of this opportunity to save time, effort and money.
"First time applicants, or those who will renew or sought replacement of their lost passports need not go here anymore in Iloilo City to process their passports," said Patricio.
The DFA 6 Mobile Passport Team will be in the municipality of Bingawan on November 28 and in Pototan on December 19 and 20, all in the province of Iloilo.
In the province of Antique, the team will visit the municipality of Anini-y on December 5 and 6 and in Patnongon on February 21, 2009.
Applicants are advised to prepare some of the requirements that include NSO authenticated birth certificate, marriage contract, and other supporting documents that indicate full name, date and place of birth such as voter's affidavit, Baptismal Certificate, valid employment ID, Transcript of records and others as well as P750 for processing fee.
Patricio said aside from the mobile passport services, those who will go to the event will also be educated on travel and migration related concerns.
The activity is part of the DFA's efforts to bring its services closer to the people and likewise, help them minimize expenses in processing their passports. (PIA)
