People are unappreciative of PGMA—Sec. Gonzalez
Department of Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez Sr. made it appear the Filipinos are ingrate over the favors and several projects provided by the Arroyo administration towards the Filipino nation.
In his message, last Friday for the awarding of Certificates of Eligibility of Lot Allocation (CELA) and distribution of the initial release of the "Katas ng VAT Tulong kay Lolo at Lola", held at the Jaro gymnasium, Gonzalez said people does not know how to appreciate the efforts of the President.
He said that the President has always given the people her approval whenever they asked for projects. Though, he did not specifically named the Ilonggos as one of those sectors that are unappreciative of the President.
"Kon mangayo kita dalan, ara man, kon mangayo kita taytay hatag man. Masunggod man sini ang Presidente," the Justice Secretary said.
Gonzalez lamented that people preferred to bite back the President instead of being thankful for all her efforts.
In the October 2008 result of the Ulat ng Bayan of Pulse Asia, President Arroyo got a low rating. The survey was conducted last October 14 to October 27, 2008.
In the said survey, Vice President Noli de Castro was among the top officials of of the land that got high ratings. Former President Joseph Estrada and Senator Manuel Villar Jr. also got high ratings in the Pulse Asia survey.
On his part, Vice President De Castro said he will use the results of the survey as his "inspiration" in doing his job. The survey result must not be used in politics.
It is barely two years left for him and President Arroyo to do their work. Time is running out and we have to double our time in serving the Filipino nation, said De Castro.
The Vice President did not issue a comment over President Arroyo's low rating in the survey.
