PNP probe: ‘Beheaded’ teener victim of ‘love triangle’
The violent and yet to be resolved killing of a teener in Dumangas, Iloilo has no other strong and more serious motive than that of a “love triangle.” The incident happened last week in what stands as one of the most grisly killings here.
A senseless death in the hands of an apparent jealous boyfriend, police probers have yet to name any suspect.
The hapless victim was 18 year-old Eduardo Lozarito Jr. of Cayan Oeste, Lambunao, Iloilo. His severed body was discovered in the middle of a riceland in Barangay Buhand Ilaya of said town, the head some few feet away.
In an interview over Bombo Radyo, Police Senior Superintendent Ricardo Dela Paz said that early police investigation points to a local as the culprit. Alongside “love triangle,” all other possible motives are being validated.
Radio reports said the victim went to the town of Dumangas purportedly to meet up with a “textmate” in Barangay Bacay here.
Dela Paz said a call was received by Lozarita Jr. in the course of his arrival at Barangay Ilaya.
A widened investigation has since been ordered with the province’s senior probers on the case.
