Major exploration, massive digging looms in Northern Iloilo
From over 7,500 hectares in proposed exploration site in the municipalities of Ajuy and Lemery, diggings are also planned elsewhere in Northern Iloilo.
On its face value, the firms seeking approval appeared to be three different corporations. Yet a closer look on the technical reports obtained by The News Today (TNT) showed the same business offices for the two and the same contact persons for the other. All three also used the services of the same mining engineer tasked to prepare the said “Technical Report.”
Now covering five Iloilo towns in the Fifth District, the explorations are similarly designed under a two-year exploration work program.
To recall, first to be reported was a Korean – Filipino firm in search of Gold, Copper, silver and other associated minerals. Project proponent is T & D Kim Phil. Incorporated.
The latest project proponents now are K & G Phil. Mineral Corporation and G & S Phil. Holdings Corporation. Like T & D Kim Phil. Incorporated, G & S Phil. Holdings Corporation holds office at UG-03, Makati Palace Hotel in Makati City.
A Lloyd C. De Leon too stands as “contact person” for both G & S Phil. Holdings and K & G Phil. Mineral Corporation.
On top of the Gold, Copper and Silver, additional exploration works now include Manganese believed to be rich as well in Northern Iloilo mountains.
G & S Phil. Holdings Corporation is seeking Capitol endorsement of its planned exploration in the Municipality of Anilao covering over 1,800 hectares.
K & G Phil. Mineral Corporation for its part is eyeing exploration within the territorial jurisdiction of Sara and San Dionisio. Specifics on the proposed exploration works cover over 2,200 hectares here yet are closest to boundaries of three other Northern Iloilo towns.
K & G Phil. Mineral Corporation’s project site is bounded on the north by Batad, by Sara on the west, and Concepcion on the south.
Exploration budget for San Dionisio and Sara is pegged at P4 million while that in Anilao is P3.6 million.
The Ajuy-Lemery project has presented with a P3.4 million budget.
