Celebration at Garden of the Ascension
Every November 1, Garden of the Ascension celebrates All Saint’s Day (All Soul’s Day is on Nov. 2) with Halloween-inspired and fun-filled activities at their site.
The day started with a mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Juarlito Provido, followed by a blessing of the graves. In the afternoon, there was a Family Bingo, an event where purchasers, park goers, sales associates and staff bonded. A Halloween Parade of 64 kids in costume started from the Legacy (Chinese Garden) and continued around the park. It was led by the Lincoln hearse and ambulance of St. Therese Chapels and a Tripping Van of Garden of the Ascension. In the evening, the audience was thrilled by the clown and reggae band. According to Jaresh Ng, resident manager, they are introducing something new every year and last November 1, the crowd, numbering approximately 13,000 were entertained by acrobats. There was an awarding of the costume contest winners as well as launching of the battlecry “Garden of the Ascension, our choice!”
Then, everyone was awed by Glitters in the Sky, a fireworks show of five participants. The party ended almost midnight, with everybody happy to have participated in one of Garden of the Ascension’s innovative festivities.
Garden of the Ascension’s festivities remind us that our departed loved ones are now enjoying eternal life with God and that’s a cause for celebration.
