Cabbie robbed; left unharmed
A taxi driver was robbed Saturday evening at Oton, Iloilo.
Fortunately for Leonardo Minerva, the suspect only took his collection money of P1,700 and left him physically unharmed.
Reports said that the suspect flagged Minerva’s driven Clint Taxi at Mandurriao district, Iloilo City.
The passenger then ordered to be ferried to Brgy. Cagbang, Oton town.
But when they reached the area, instead of paying the driver of his fare, the suspect took a knife and declared hold-up.
At knife point, the suspect divested Minerva of his collection money.
“Pabalik-balik lang ko to sa Cagbang. Una sa may Mohon (Arevalo, Iloilo City) kami maagi,” he narrated.
After three times of going the same route, the suspect ordered Minerva to alight the taxi.
The robber then took over the wheels and sped off to undisclosed direction.
The suspect then fled bringing the victim’s taxi.
At around 10:30 in the evening, it was abandoned it in front of the Jaro Metropolitan Cathedral in Jaro district, Iloilo City.
Police investigators of Oton and Jaro PNP are now conducting investigation to identify and arrest the suspect.
