Bike riders shoot couple; hubby killed, wife unharmed
Two motorcycle-riding men sprayed with bullets a couple very recently at an uninhabited portion of Brgy. Talanghawan, Lambunao, Iloilo.
While the wife fled physically unscathed, her husband died of multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body.
At around 7:30 in the evening of May 31, Gelly Castillo said that she and her husband, Felipe, were onboard their motorcycle on their way home to Brgy. Lumanay, Lambunao town.
When they were traversing a sharp curve at Brgy. Talanghawan, another motorcycle overtook them.
The motorcycle’s backrider then pulled a gun and shot at them.
Gelly claimed to have heard her husband saying that they were being shot.
What she remembered then was that they fell to the ground.
“Nagbangon kag nag-isol kag nagsinggit tabang,” she said claiming that she then abandoned her wounded husband.
As she scampered, she saw the gunman alighting from the motorcycle and approaching her bloodied husband.
She then heard what seemed to be finishing shots that ended Felipe’s life.
Gelly claimed she could not identify their assailants.
She could not also positively pinpoint to any persons who have motives on wanting them, particularly her husband, killed.
However, Gelly surmised that the incident could be an old grudge, which she traced way back in 1999.
On that year, she said that their house was also strafed by unknown persons.
The strafing incident came after her husband figured in a brawl.
Gelly did not elaborate on who were involved in the fracas but theorized that the killing of Felipe might be done by the same person who strafed their house more than a decade ago.
