Mabilog reveals his 10-priority agenda
Incoming city mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog has already laid down his administration’s ten priority agenda.
Mabilog vows to continue and revitalize the programs initiated by outgoing city mayor and congressman-elect Jerry P. Treñas to attain and achieve the vision of making this southern city a Premier City by 2015 — and be at par with the other highly urbanized cities in the country.
Mabilog’s priority agenda are:
- Creation of an Economic Growth and Redevelopment Services Office that will oversee the development strategies of the city and consultation of ideas from the public especially on Facebook regarding economic development proposals.
- He will also create and develop man-made tourism sites in the city;
- Recognize the overseas Filipino workers’ (OFWs) potentials by creating a sound business investment package for them.
- The fast growing information technology (IT) industry will surely have a solid place in this city by strengthening and introducing innovations for the industry to line Ilonggos with foreign employers based abroad.
- An effective local governance is also another priority by eliminating graft and corruption;
- Maintaining a general climate of peace and order.
- The power and water sectors will be strengthened with a liberal pricing of electricity rates and identification of water supply,
- Increase national and international quality awareness and competitiveness,
- Jobs creation and investment attraction will become a by-word of his administration.
- Maintain a strong partnership between the public and private sectors through various development programs and tourism festivals of the city.
