Cabbie accused of robbing, sexually molesting passenger
From reports of taxi drivers getting held-up, the news of a cabbie robbing his passenger quite upset the riding public.
This, after a 21-year old woman claimed to have been robbed and sexually molested by the very driver of the taxi she rode.
A promo girl of a milk company, Quennie (not her real name) claimed that she boarded a BitMax taxi (FVM-161) at around 3:00 a.m. of Saturday.
She told the driver to bring her somewhere near the Iloilo Sports Complex at Brgy. Magsaysay Village, La Paz, Iloilo.
Instead of taking her to her destination, the driver, at gunpoint, allegedly declared a hold-up.
The suspect then maneuvered the vehicle going to the Iloilo Flood Control Project in Brgy. Cubay, Jaro district and sexually molested her.
The sexual molestation part was not elaborated.
After the incident, the driver brought her to her destination at Brgy. Magsaysay Village.
After she was dropped off, she managed to get the taxi’s name and plate number, as it sped off.
She then asked for help.
Quennie claimed that the suspect took her Motorola mobile phone worth P10,000 and cash amounting to P300.
Meanwhile, initial investigation revealed that the FVM-161 is a plate number registered to a public utility jeepney.
Some said that operator of BitMax taxi is from Cabatuan.
However, other taxi drivers could not ascertain if the operator is also the taxi driver.
Usually, BitMax taxi could usually be seen at a mall in La Paz district.
However, the said cab was not seen the whole day of Saturday.
