IPPO gets 120 additional firearms
Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) based in Camp Sumagaysay, Sta. Barbara, Iloilo has received 120 sets of .9mm caliber firearms from the National Headquarters to help in the expansion of their operations.
According to Senior Supt. Renato Gumban, officer-in-charge of the IPPO, the additional firearms is part of the Integrated Transformation Program (ITP) of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The brand new firearms were formally distributed to all maneuver platoons and selected municipal police stations in the province during a simple turn-over program held at IPPO Multi-Purpose Hall yesterday.
“The PNP now feels the gradual realization of the ITP with regards to our ability to shoot, move and communicate,” stressed Gumban.
He further added that this program also aims to meet the 1:1 ratio (one police-one firearm) so that they could better serve and protect the community.
“This is one of the many projects of the PNP towards the attainment of ITP goals,” he ended.
