New Iloilo gov to take oath before son
Iloilo governor-elect Arthur Defensor, Sr. will be taking his oath before his son who is the Iloilo Third District congressman-elect this coming July 1.
Defensor won in the last May 10 poll for governor against Barotac Viejo Mayor Raul C. Tupas who supposedly will replace his father, incumbent Gov. Niel D. Tupas, Sr. at the Iloilo capitol.
The oath-taking of Defensor will be held at the lobby of the Iloilo Provincial Capitol. This will be held right after a mass.
Defensor, after his oath-taking before his son congressman-elect Arthur Defensor, Jr., will then induct into office vice governor elect Oscar “Richard” Garin Jr. and the other members of the Iloilo provincial board.
The governor and vice governor will also deliver their inaugural speeches before the invited congressmen of Iloilo’s five districts, the mayors, vice mayors and department heads of the provincial government.
Iloilo city government officials have also been invited to witness the affair.
There will be choral presentations and a luncheon to be tendered in one of the hotels here in Iloilo City after the program at the Capitol. (PNA)
