Roxas City joins 110th year of civil service
ROXAS CITY – The Roxas City government opened its photo gallery at the City Hall lobby on September 6 in line with the 110th Philippine Civil Service anniversary this September.
Mayor Angel Alan Celino led the opening of the exhibit aimed to showcase the projects, programs and current undertakings of the city government.
The month-long celebration themed “In a R.A.C.E. to Serve: Advancing Responsive, Accessible, Courteous and Effective (RACE) Public Service” provides government agencies and local government units with the opportunity to celebrate reforms and milestones as they fulfill their mandates.
It will be highlighted by the awards rites for the 2010 Search for Outstanding Public Servants. In this event, public officials and employees will be conferred the prestigious Lingkod Bayan, Dangal ng Bayan and Pagasa Awards for their outstanding work performance and consistent ethical behavior.
The awards, as provided by laws, will be conferred by President Benigno Simeon Aquino III at the Malacañang Palace.
An activity dubbed “Government Express at the Malls” will also be conducted to bring together government frontline services to a more popular area – the shopping malls. Agencies will set up a one-stop shop where they can offer their respective services (e.g. permits, licenses, verifications) and entertain queries, complaints, feedback and request for information.
Other activities slated for the 110th PCS anniversary include the conferment of the Citizen’s Satisfaction Center Seal of Excellence to deserving government agencies, interconnection of agency helplines to the Call Center ng Bayan, showcasing of the exemplary careers and achievements of government employees in offices and schools, and exhibits and dialogues.*PIA
